Una parte de la vista a la ciudad.

No puedes irte de Lempira sin visitar este monumento nacional, esta pequeña fortaleza se empezó a construir en 1864 por orden del General José María Medina. Su privilegiada ubicación le permitió defender la ciudad en varias ocasiones. En su interior se encuentra la tumba de Juan Lindo, uno de los presidentes más importantes de Honduras.

Visto desde arriba tiene una forma de estrella y esta construido con adobe, piedra y ladrillo. En su perímetro posee fortines diseñados al estilo de Edad Media pero el conjunto del edificio es neoclasicismo y en su exterior tiene dos cañones traídos desde la Fortaleza de San Fernando de Omoa.


You can’t left Lempira without a visit to this national monument, the small fort was built in 1864, as ordered by General José María Medina. Its strategic location allow him to defend the city on various occasions. In its premises you will find the grave of Juan Lindo, one of the most important presidents of Honduras.

Seen from above it has a star shape and it was constructed with adobe, bricks and stones. In its perimeter has towers designed in the style of Middle Age, however, the entire building was designed in Neoclassic style and in its exterior has two cannons brought from the San Fernando Fortress in Omoa.
